I spent some time as did Grant letting them see photos from the camera and I let one have a shot at taking some photos which he loved, it was great to see their faces.
We then continued on to Cheplung at 2660m and instead of taking the right fork as we had on day 4 we took left bath that would take us uphill towardsLukla.
We are passing many people heading towards Namche they have just landed and they smell so fresh and of deodorant and shower gel ( not for long poor people, we wonder how many realise what they are away to do) We can see many planes arriving and leaving Namche and its not long before we reach an arch way commemorating the first woman sherpa to summit Everest.
We all stop to pose for our final group photo and congratulate each other for managing and arriving back safely.
Ok we still had to survive that dreaded flight, tomorrow morning but we have the rest of the day to chill. We walk through Lukla passing trekking supplies shops, cafes, pubs etc, the roadway is full of holes but we were used to walking looking at our feet.
grocery shop
We stop amused when someone spotted the Scottish pub where we Scotties had a photo before we got to our lodge.
Big thankyou guys
Our room has an on-suite we have our own toilet and shower and it does not cost too much for the shower. After a shower we have lunch, Greame and Grant have been to the barber Joe has shaved, infact everyone looks clean and fresh.
After lunch we go for a walk around Lukla, visiting Starbucks then Scottish Pub. Later some of us go up to the airport where we sit and watch planes coming in and taking off.
Roy and Peter waiting for next flight
Its a very busy airport and can only take 4 planes. Danni is suffering a chest infection so with Chris she has a walk up to the hospital to get some antibiotics. The afternoon has been relaxing and we go back for our last evening meal.
It's funny seeing a YakDonalds, Chris went in for a yak burger but no-one appeared to serve him.
Its a buffet with lots and lots of choice and to finish our cook has made a farewell cake.
Graeme and Grant cutting the cake
After dinner we go for a drink in an Irish bar before returning to lodge as we have to get up at 4.30. We are not sure when our flight is but we will have to be at airport at 6.
