As for highlights - the Nepali people, dawn at Dingboche with fresh snow and clear skies, descending anywhere, the wee dram of Dalwhinnie from Roy at EBC, the weather which gave us great views of the Himalaya, yak shit fires, ascertaining how many words there are for various parts of the male and female anatomy, Rajat Roy's singing and seeing that photo of him with voluminous hair from his heavy metal drumming days, Silk Air Hostesses, Thamel, exchange rates, apple jacks, Kathmandu Airport, weight loss and fitness, friendship and conversation, dhal bhat, squat toilets, rooms with postcard views, our diversion through Phaplu, especially the landing, Herman Helmer's, the Garden of Dreams, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath, Pringles cans, homemade chilli, no TV, email or phones, the Barber of Lukla,. . .

The not so good - donkey shit village comes to mind, landslide bridge, the day the porters lost 2 bags, not flying into Lukla, numerous toilet experiences and the constant "venting", Peter and Marc missing out on EBC, yak shit fires left to go out, losing to Chris at cards (that should be on everyone's list of low lights), my boots deciding to fall apart, dust, ascending anywhere, Nepali guards with various ageing rifles and machine guns, watching small people labour up big mountains with massive loads, Kathmandu Airport, exhaustion and headaches, needing to pee in the middle of the night, Laurie's snoring, Rachel's bowels, warm Tang, my snooker game, Yak cheese, . . .
