Trekking for Charity!

Roy and Gail have chosen two charities to raise money for in the name of this trek, Afasic and The British Heart Foundation.

Afasic are a charity based in the UK that deal with speech and language problems.  They work with parents, professionals, local authorities and agencies across the UK to promote the rights, needs and aspirations of children and young people (up to 25 years of age), as well as that of their parents and carers, all of whom deal with the problems and difficulties that speech and language problems bring.  

Afasic work hard to empower the parents and carers of these children to ensure that they get the best from life, and are supported in a manner that leads them to living as fulfilling a life as possible.  

As Gail works with so many children at nursery who have speech problems, this is the perfect Charity for her to take on the challenge to trek to the Everest Base Camp for.

The second charity that Roy and Gail shall be trekking for is The British Heart Foundation.  

After Roy's Dad Arthur died from heart disease 2 years ago, this is something that both he and his family feel  very strongly about.  Earlier this year a whole army of them climbed Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Scotland to raise money for The British Heart Foundation...and Help is for Heroes!
